Fall family fun this weekend includes the Rockport-Fulton Seafair, Punkin' Days in Floydada (known as "Pumpkin Capital, USA"), and El Paso's Chalk the Block street painting festival.

Rockport-Fulton Seafair

Rockport: Oct. 11-14 
This 44th annual event showcases arts and crafts, food, boats, market vendors, live bands in the big tent with featured entertainment, gumbo sales, a stand-up paddle board race in Little Bay, a cardboard boat competition, and more. 

Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez

El Paso: Oct. 11-12
Founded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernandez, Ballet Folklorico brings together the music, dance, and costume of Mexican folklore from pre-Columbian civilizations through the modern era at the Plaza Theatre.

Chalk the Block

El Paso: Oct. 12-14
A free three-day public arts festival held each year near the El Paso Museum of Art. The event is an opportunity for artists in all disciplines to showcase their art with live painting, performances, live music, art installations, art classes, and more. 

Austin City Limits Music Festival

Austin: 12-14
One of the country's largest celebrations of live music, the second and final weekend of this six-day festival brings the magic of the famed public TV series "Austin City Limits" outside the studio and into Austin's most beloved park. More than 150 musical acts—including Paul McCartney, Metallica, and Odesza—will take over eight stages, along with local food vendors, brewers, artists, and pop-up shops and artists. 

Monarch Celebration

Fredericksburg: Oct. 13
Wildseed Farms celebrates the Monarch butterfly migration "tag and release" program. The event is fun and educational for the whole family.

1867 Settlement Celebration

Texas City: Oct. 13 
The Settlement, now a historic district on the National Register, was founded by a group of families of freed slaves that worked as cowboys on the Chisholm Trail. Tour the Bell House (the oldest surviving building in the district) and enjoy food, music, and vendors. 

Good Life Festival & 5K

Taylor: Oct. 13
This family festival at Bull Branch Park includes a poultry petting zoo, chicken splat bingo, games, lunch, and a “super epic confetti egg battle.” 

Punkin' Days

Floydada: Oct. 13
Known as “Pumpkin Capital, USA,” Floydada's agricultural roots run deep. The festival features a plethora of pumpkins and pumpkin-themed fun, a variety of food, a chili and barbecue cookoff, vendors, a pumpkin pie eating contest, and more around the downtown square.

Texas Mushroom Festival

Madisonville: Oct. 13
This all-day celebration is what makes Madisonville the Mushroom Capital of Texas. For the 17th annual event, check out a car show, wine tastings, biergarten, offerings from Madisonville's Monterey Mushrooms, kids activities, and more. 

Plano International Festival

Plano: Oct. 13 
This event at Haggard Park explores cultures of the world with art, food, music, dancing, and more. The festivities include a Children's Global Village, yoga, a fashion show, a wellness fair, a naturalization ceremony, live entertainment, and more. 

Food & Wine Festival

Waco: Oct. 13
Patrons may taste more than 200 wines and sample food from over 30 restaurants at this 19th annual event at Indian Spring Park. Event activities include live entertainment; V.I.P. “Top Dog” area on the scenic Waco Suspension Bridge; sports area with beer, a barbecue cookoff, and the day’s sporting events on three big-screen TVs; Red Carpet Dog Walk featuring adoptable shelter dogs; and a large silent auction and the famous “Cork Pull”. 

Pioneer Heritage Festival

Weatherford: Oct. 13
Celebrate Parker County’s rich pioneer history at Doss Heritage and Culture Center's inaugural festival. The day will include a children’s area, pioneer-themed games, live entertainment, and a merchant and farmer’s mercantile area with representatives from both artists and historic settlers. The event is free to the public, but a canned food donation is suggested.
