80th Anniversary of the Fort Griffin Fandangle

The "Oldest Outdoor Musical in Texas," the Fandangle is a show that the people of Albany present beneath the summer stars of the Texas sky for four nights of the last two weekends of June. With singing, dancing, and pageantry, it recreates the look and feel of life in the frontier days of the Old West. Cowboys, cavalry troops, Native Americans, honest hardworking settlers, buffalo hunters, and the denizens of Fort Griffin all make their appearance on Albany's open prairie amphitheater. The story of settling this country is retold through tales of the Old Timer—complete with authentic wagons, the Butterfield stagecoach, the Texas Central train, and plenty of horses and riders.
