La Frontera, an exhibition of art jewelry at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

Nancy Moyer with Mark Clark, Border Fence Series: Border Scenarios (Mexican View), 2013, reversible neck piece

The landscape, culture, and political turbulence of the United States-Mexico border region take center stage in La Frontera, an exhibition of art jewelry at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.

Houston jewelers join a group of 90 artists from around the world who crafted the 150 pieces of jewelry, such as necklaces, brooches, and bracelets, with materials ranging from silver and gold to canvas, polyester, porcelain, and water bottles. The exhibit runs through September 7, 2014.
