An Evening with Toni Tipton Martin, Carver Museum.

New York Times bestselling author Toni Tipton Martin – "The Jemima Code: Two Centuries of African American Cookbooks" – discusses the contributions of black women in the creation of American cuisine.  Meet and greet reception immediately following Q&A. Free and open to public from 6-9 p.m. at the Carrver Museum Boyd Vance Theatre.

Black History Month Kids Day, Carver Museum

Family event with crafts for kids.  Join us for our first annual Black History Month Kids Day.  Will feature activities, crafts, fun and games in celebration of Black History Month.  Free and open to the public from noon to 4 p.m.

“Enduring Spirit: African Americans in 19th Century Texas” exhibit, Star of the Republic Museum, Washington

The Star of the Republic Museum's “Enduring Spirit: African Americans in 19th Century Texas" exhibit includes artifacts and documents sucn as slave records, freedmen contracts and more to look at the first African Americans in Texas who were here first as free men. Buffalo Soldier Heritage Day, Fort Concho National Historic Landmark, San Angelo

The Fort Concho Buffalo Soldier Living History Unit hosts a celebration of the history and heritage of the African-American Soldiers who served at forts, including Fort Concho, across the United States. (325) 657-4440.
