If you’re interested in learning more about the ancient canyon-dwellers and rock art of the Lower Pecos Canyonlands, here are some online resources to get you started:

Shumla Archaeological Research and Education Center in Comstock conducts research to document rock art of the Lower Pecos Canyonlands. Shumla also maintain an active public outreach program that has served more than 30,000 students and adults.

Texas State University’s Ancient Southwest Texas Project is a long-term research program focused on the region’s prehistoric human record and sharing findings with the public.

The Rock Art Foundation, based in San Antonio, promotes the study and preservation of Native American rock art in the Lower Pecos region of Southwest Texas.

The Archeological Research Laboratory’s Texas Beyond History website provides an informative overview of the archeology of the Lower Pecos Canylonlands.
