Web Extra: Wine Road 290

Participants in the Wine Road 290 group include Becker Vineyards, Chisholm Trail Winery, Fredericksburg Winery, Grape Creek Vineyards, Pedernales Cellars, Rancho Ponte Vineyard, Texas Hills Vineyard, Torre di Pietra Vineyards, William Chris Vineyards, and Woodrose Winery. These wineries work together to promote each other and the region as a whole, and they offer a number of events that aim to pique wine-lovers’ interest in Central Texas wines. Upcoming events include Port ‘n’ Pairings (January 22, 2011), when each winery will showcase their Port along with treats like chocolates and cheeses; Ragin’ Cajun (February 22), when winemakers illustrate how to pair Texas wines with such New Orleans-inspired fare crawfish and seafood gumbo; and Vino and Pasta (March 19), when the wineries partner with area restaurants to create special wine & food pairings.
