Chocolate Pecan Pie

  • 1 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 T. butter, melted
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2/3 c. chopped pecans
  • pecan halves
  • corn syrup (optional)
  • unbaked 9-in pie shell

In a large mixing bowl, combine syrup, butter, chocolate, sugars, flour, and salt. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and pecans; then pour into a 9-inch unbaked pie shell.

Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until done. Arrange pecan halves on top of pie immediately and brush them with corn syrup. Return pie to oven for about 5 minutes. Cool before you cut.
