Ranch Style Pinto Beans


  • 1 lb. pinto beans 
  • 1/4 lb. salt pork 
  • 1 onion, cut up 
  • 1 can tomatoes 
  • 3 T. chili powder 
  • 1 tsp. salt 
Pick and wash beans, cover with water and soak overnight. Add enough water to cover by one inch. Add salt pork and 1 tsp. salt and boil 30 minutes. Chop onion, add with remaining ingredients and boil 2-3 hours longer, adding enough water to prevent sticking.
