Perini Ranch Steakhouse

Text by ,
We spent a delightful two days camping in Abilene State Park in Tuscola. For dinner we visited the Perini Ranch Steakhouse in nearby Buffalo Gap. I enjoyed a tender, tasty 8 oz. tenderloin filet that was the best I’ve had in a long time. The place was full (reservations are a must, especially on weekends), but the sweet hostess found a place for us outside where we were as happy as could be. The side dishes were spectacular, particularly the green-chile hominy. We hope to return someday soon for the fish fry: three pieces of catfish served with hush puppies, black-eyed peas, roasted corn on the cob, green beans, and watermelon. I can’t wait. Oh, yes, they serve wonderful sweet tea on request.
