Crane House Retreat

Text by ,
I just returned from a stay at the Crane House Retreat in Lamar. During my trip, I enjoyed sitting in a rocking chair on the home’s screened-in porch and watching a family of whooping cranes feed within 200 yards of the bed and breakfast. The guest book lists over 90 bird species that visitors have identified. Crane House is nestled among windblown oaks on property that borders the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
